NOCTURNAL OPERA
Released: July 20th, 2004
Type: album
Duration: 40:01
NOCTURNAL OPERA is Moi dix Mois' second album and is probably one of its most defining albums in its discography as most tracks on it are popular with fans. I also say this because I am utterly biased and think of it as their most original sounding album; one only Moi dix Mois could create.

Thoughts
This album is a mixture of classical music, electronics and metal (so, it's basically like Shadows Temple) and most of the lyrics mention being on a stage (like, say, an opera stage?). Very fitting for the album title. Basically, when you're listening to NOCTURNAL OPERA, you're listening to a clear transition from angry guitars and totally depressing lyrics to badass roaring guitars that are somehow toned down by the symphonies you hear in the background and lyrics that are only moderately depressing. Juka's vocals also lend a variety of other emotions and feels to the music, like mysteriousness, hopefulness, and a strange element that tugs at your heart strings. I can't listen to this album without feeling personally moved in some way.
The most prominent track on this album is probably monophobia, but I invite you to give the Prophet and Perish a proper listen. Oh, hell, they're all great, just listen to the whole thing!
